Grade 12 student Ananiya Narmathan wrote and published the book, Kimberley With An E, which was recently included in our school library collection by our teacher librarian Heather Chalmers. The book describes the challenges faced by a girl named Kimberley who struggles to help others understand how to correctly pronounce her name and why that is important.
Congratulations to grade 11 student Jocelyn Wong, who was one of 22 students from across Canada to receive the prestigious Vimy Pilgrimage Award for 2023. Jocelyn received the award for her research project on the important contribution of nurses during the First World War. Congratulations to our Varsity Boys Hockey Team! They ended off a terrific season finishing in 1st place in the East Division and earned a Silvery Medal in the YRAA Tier 2 finals by finishing 2nd place overall. The team demonstrated brilliance throughout the season coupled with dedication, resilience and hard work to achieve this result.

Our team of 48 students, ranging from grades 9 through 12, placed first overall at both YRAA preliminary meets, and many of our students qualified for OFSAA in individual and relay events. On March 21, 2024 the York Catholic District School Board celebrated the third annual board-wide Lenten Mass of Renewal and Reconciliation. Livestreamed to the board’s 50,000 students, the Mass featured the talented students of St Edward Catholic Elementary School and St Brother Andre Catholic High School, in Markham, who performed the music and helped with the readings.
